Gathering Chair

Sultan Hassan Mohamed Gababa, the Sultan of the Garre who live in the area where the gathering took place chaired the gathering.

Sultan Gababa went on the become the Chairman of the new Somali Pastoralist Council which was formed at this gathering. The Council finalised its registration as a formal Council under Ethiopian law by September 2008 and held their first general meeting in October 2008.
